Charlotte Wrinch

Hello, welcome, and thanks for dropping by 🙂

With the Canadian General Election fast approaching, my team and I have put together a new release – a music video entitled Oh Canada. It’s a song about all things Canadian. I wrote it for you; for the people of Canada, all of whom make this country great. Make sure you get out and Vote on Oct 19 <3.

Here’s the video. Wooh!

You can also hear Oh Canada in full audio quality on my SoundCloud page here.

I’m super excited to be introducing my studio album (released Oct 31/2014), Kiss The Ground. This production features not only me, but other established Canadian performers including Joe Stanton, who has thus far released eight studio albums of his own; and Celso Machado, who is a four-time Juno Award nominee, and the winner of the World Solo Artist of the Year at the 2008 Canadian Folk Music Awards.

A few years ago, when I won a FACTOR Demo grant, I recorded a three-song demo album with Ray Fulber at Strait Sound Studio in Gibsons, here on the Sunshine Coast. I was like a kid in a candy-shop doing that demo; trying out all Ray’s fancy mics, and sitting in the control-room after recording, comping tracks together.

Ray was so kind and supportive, and said more than once with a knowing smile, “oh, you’re going to be doing all this yourself eventually, I can tell”.

Haha, he was so right.

This album, Kiss The Ground, is a culmination of what will always be an ongoing journey learning about audio recording; everything from song-writing, to where to put the mic, to how to arrange, edit and mix. It’s a whole huge world I feel I’ve only just scratched the surface of. There’s always so much to learn, but that’s what I absolutely love about it!

Take a look around. We’re just getting the site up and running, so if you have any questions about what to include, let us know. We’re always interested in what you have to say.
